The Research Information System (RIS) of the University of Cologne

The research information system (RIS) of the University of Cologne consolidates information on research activities and relevant contextual information and links them to persons and organizational units of the  university. The RIS database can only be accessed by members of the University of Cologne. In the database, they can record and manage metadata on research activities such as publications and research projects, patents or prizes. Data collection is in accordance with the specifications of the Core Data Set for research recommended by the German Science and Humanities Council.

A RIS portal accompanies the RIS, which - unlike the database - is open to the public and thus enables presentation of RIS content even beyond the university. By adjusting the database settings, researchers can determine which research information is made available to the public on the portal.
